The Living Room
The Living Room is a remembrance of my grandparents home in the Bay Area. I bring my own Black history into this work as my elders and community have greatly impacted my journey in this work.
But, I also have to acknowledge our East Coast family with “The Kitchen Beautician.” A brought to life re-imagining of the scene fromSpike Lee’s Crooklyn with Troy in her mama’s lap, getting her hair done.
However, y’all know that our cousins and Southern roots couldn’t be left out! You can also book our activation, “The Candy Lady.” Y’all know that Auntie on the block that had the hook up for pickles, Now and Laters, chips, and icy cups! There was no need for the corner store, when we had The Candy Lady on the block!
Our initial debut of our first-of-its-kind activation: The Living Room at the Black Maternal Health Conference 2026; hosted by Black Mamas Matter Alliance. This wasn’t just a photoshoot set; it was a physical manifestation of cultural genius and intentional care, sourced entirely from Black Artists and Creators. This set mirrors the soul of BLKBRY, which addresses the material needs of Black Families while stimulating the Black economy and keeping the Black dollar circulating as long as possible. True reproductive justice means wellness and basic necessities aren’t separated by income.

We love to support other community-based organizations and we can make something beautiful with your budget. So, as producer/rapper Jermaine Dupri would say, “money ain’t a thing.”
And yes, we do have our main three activations and upon submitting a request, we can have a meeting to show you the designs for them or even talk about creating an activation specific to your event’s theme. Lastly, please note that our activations can include us being present to do correspondent work for you as well.
