BLKBRY centers Black women and birthing people to advocate, drive research, build power, and shift culture for Black maternal and infant health, rights, and justice. We envision a world where Black women and children have the rights, respect, and resources to thrive before, during, and after pregnancy.

OUR GOALS:

  • Develop a Statewide Advocacy Agenda: Creating and holding space for a statewide coalition to develop a statewide advocacy agenda that directly addresses the Black Maternal Health Crisis in Washington State.

  • Change Policy: Introduce and advance policy grounded in the human rights framework that addresses Black maternal and infant health inequities, and improves Black maternal and infant health outcomes

  • Cultivate Research: Leverage the talent and knowledge that exists in Black communities and cultivate innovative research methods to inform the policy agenda to improve Black maternal health

  • Advance Care for Black Women: Explore, introduce, and enhance holistic and comprehensive approaches to Black Women's care

  • Shift Culture: Redirect and reframe the conversation on Black maternal health and amplify the voices of Black Women

BLKBRY has created options for organizations, companies and individuals to donate in ways that work for their capacity and budgets.

We are dedicated to growing and supporting the RJ movement, and to uplifting the voices and building the capacity of our movement sisters to win access to ALL reproductive rights! Your sponsorship and donations help us in the work we do, such as,

  • Hold and facilitate reproductive justice and birth equity trainings and workshops

  • Create movement spaces for our leaders, organizers, and activists in the movement to strategize

  • Culture shift work by prioritizing culture within education and to be used as a tool

  • Bringing in and strengthening relations between reproductive justice organizations across Washington State and the country

Create and Sustain programming for Black people and families

  • Resource days in the community where we pass out resource sheets with RJ orgs and various shelters so folks are aware of resources they can request

  • Building leadership development skills within our interns and volunteers so they can help continue to grow the movement by educating folks about reproductive justice.

No donation is too small! We are so appreciative of the support from our communities and allies to continue doing this work. Sponsorships and donations are a pivotal piece in that process.

Thank you in advance for supporting BLKBRY!
