Rooted & Regulated: Emotional Wellness for Black Families

Black families carry a lot and we deserve peace, too. In this interactive workshop, we will explore what emotional regulation really means in our

homes, how stress shows up in our bodies, and how to model healthy coping for our children while resisting the urge for perfection. Families will walk away from this talk feeling better able to reclaim the calm, connection, and care in their homes.

Dr. Amber Thornton is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and author of ‘A Parent’s Guide to Self-Regulation: A Practical Framework for Breaking the Cycle of Dysregulation and Mastering Emotions for Parents and Children.’ Dr. Amber is a strong advocate for the mental health and well-being of
